analog crisp sounding mastering!

Our first experience with XARC was in 2005 when we were about to release our debut album without a label. We heard a lot of audio samples from different mastering studios but by listening to samples from XARC we agreed that he might be perfect to keep the analog sounding character of our songs which were produced by using 80% analog gear. Furthermore the costs were in line with our budget. The result was a surprisingly warm and crisp sounding CD and attracted also positive attention by some bands who already knew the difficulties with mastering studios, we felt confirmed in our choice.

Now in 2007 we didn´t want to take a risk and decided to give XARC a second call, our main interest was to achieve an analog-crisp sounding touch again. We agreed not to jump on the “louder, harder, to the limit mastering” bandwagon and decided for a classic mastering as the world was used to before loudness found its way into divinity.

The result is a crisp analog sounding CD, the bass sounds received a stronger touch - direct into your face - and the pads are floating in the background. There is a great transparency. It almost seems that the songs were mastered with tube-EQ´s.
